Back to the Middle Ages – guided tour in the Medieval Park

Travel back to Oslo’s earliest days on this guided walk through the Medieval Park. Here, among ruins, reflecting pools, and green surroundings, you’ll experience what the medieval city looked like and how it functioned – long before today’s modern capital emerged.

Our knowledgeable guide will take you through the park’s most important archaeological sites, including the remains of St. Mary’s Church, which was Norway’s most important church in the Middle Ages. You’ll hear about the kings who were crowned and buried here, as well as about trade, crafts, and everyday life in the old town by the fjord.

The tour combines engaging storytelling with a leisurely walk through beautiful surroundings, offering a fascinating glimpse into what Oslo looked like nearly a thousand years ago. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience a different and authentic encounter with the city’s history.
