Historic River Walk

This historical walking tour takes place every Sunday along the Akerselva river to experience the city's diverse landscape and history.

Experience the Akerselva River in Oslo

Discover Oslo in a whole new way with a scenic walk along Akerselva – the city's green lung. This calm river winds through the capital and offers a perfect combination of history, culture and nature.

The tour starts at 14:00 from Oslo S, where you join a knowledgeable guide on a two-hour journey through the city's transformation. From the vibrant Grønland, formerly an industrial area, to today's vibrant cultural and recreational arena, you will experience the contrasts that make Oslo unique. Along the way, you'll see the impressive waterfall at Beier Bridge, cross the fairytale Fairytale Bridge, and wander through lush greenery where the city's industrial heritage meets modern city life.

Learn how Akerselva has gone from being a polluted industrial river to a living ecosystem full of flora and fauna, thanks to extensive environmental work. The tour ends at Mathallen, Oslo's food mecca, where you can explore a rich selection of Norwegian and international delicacies.

Denne opplevelsen passer perfekt for alle som ønsker en personlig og minneverdig tur gjennom hjertet av Oslo.
