"Executioner and Cannons"

A visit to the fortress is a journey through Norway's history from the 14th century to the present day. The fortress has been the center of the nation's growth and development for more than 700 years. The guide tells of royal visits and hostile sieges, of the fortress as a place of confinement for criminals, murderers, and other criminals. The tour also includes Oslo's historic center, with the Kvadraturen founded by King Christian IV in 1624.
